Born and bred in Worcester, Marlon grew up in the Roodewal area. This area is characterised by poverty, high levels of drug and alcohol abuse and gangsters.

Marlon was primarily educated at Esselen Park Primary school and completed matric at Esselen Park secondary school in 2003.

In 2009, Marlon joined the SAPD and started studying in 2011 and graduated in 2016. He studied while working at SAPD. In 2018, he left the SAPD after nine years of service and commenced with his articles at Legal Aid Worcester Office. Marlon completed his studies at Unisa.

On 6 March 2020, Marlon was admitted as an attorney and joined us at Muller Terblanche & Beyers.
